July 2023

At YAIPak Outreach everything starts with the Extravagant Love of Christ. God pursues each one of us to redefine our identity, restore our dignity, and remind us how deeply we are loved. With a focus on women, children and veterans, we are witnessing that power of Extravagant Love each day. Our warehouse for donation drop offs and volunteer hours is located at 1255 Paradise Hill Rd. We are open for donations and volunteers on Mondays from 9am to 12pm, Wednesdays from 12 to 2pm, and Thursdays from 5 to 8pm.

YAIPak Outreach in the Community

Several weeks ago a conversation started with our local Community Action Board with concerns regarding the need for food for children and families that are a part of CMCSS' F.U.E.L Program for free and reduced lunch during the school year. As we sat a part of this meeting, we began to think how we could find a helpful solution...the miracle was we had just received an amazing (unusual) donated load of kid friendly foods and snacks that we knew would be perfect!!

We got to brainstorming with our team and came up with FUEL HOPE. For the summer months away from school, we are partnering with the Clarksville Police Department to provide a safe and welcoming drive thru experience where kids and their families can show up and receive what they need.

Included in these bags:

- an adult bag with easy to cook meals for the family - a kids bag with independent kid friendly snacks/foods - a small family hygiene bag - one gallon of apple juice - one container of laundry detergent

We are so grateful for the opportunity to have this impact in our community and we can because of the amazing generosity of those who donate their time, talents, and treasure to our organization. TOGETHER, we're better! Have a great summer kiddos!

NEXT FUEL HOPE DISTRIBUTION: Wednesday, July 12th from 12-4pm 1255 Paradise Hill Rd *ID Required*

Your Generosity at Work

Big Days Supporting Veterans!

Everyday we get to help veterans with Totes of Hope and essentials for their new homes is a great day! We are honored to assist these men and women by sharing furnishings donated just for this very purpose. Escorting them to the bays dedicated to bringing a new beginning is sometimes overwhelming.

We hear comments like “Are you sure I can have this?”

Some speak while holding back tears saying "I just can’t believe you’d do this!”

We put as much as we could fit into this veteran's truck. This veteran shared that he lost everything he had and for two years he just wanted to make his life different. He paused as his emotions surfaced over the memory.

His words …“Sometimes life does you wrong and you have to know when to get up. YAIPak is restoring my confidence by giving me things for a new life. I came a long way to get here, but it was very well worth the trip.”

Ms. M told us she had to leave Indiana with absolutely nothing. “I couldn’t bring anything with me at all. This is HUGE!”

Watching them drive away on to a new life never fails to lift us up. To give them

hope for the future is something we don’t take lightly.

Our nation's heroes deserve no less.

Volunteer Spotlight

MacKynzie Bryant // Bella Graves

“We need to share responsibility. It’s easy to say ‘It’s not my child, not my community, not my problem.’ Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.” – Fred Rogers

No matter how many calls, emails, or texts we receive to help a child, we are humbled by the team that continually responds with concerned hearts and hope that the child will be filled with love. These young girls serving asked to help as they are serving their summer at YAIPak. This particular call involved their peers.

Kids their ages. It was a pack out they could relate to because they were now picking out clothes as if they were going to wear them themselves. They picked out the clothes a teen would feel stylish in. Clothes a young girl would feel pretty in. All the fashionable accessories a child would be excited over.

Kids impacting kids. They responded to the call. And yet their own hearts are touched for their unnamed peers.

Our hope...the younger generation serving among us will forever remember the value of responding and being someone's hero.
